2026 Wedding Trends I’m Obsessed With

As a wedding photographer, I get a front-row seat to all the ways couples are making their days truly their own. And let me tell you, 2026 is shaping up to be full of style, personality, and so many unforgettable trends. From the venues to the details, here are the trends I’m seeing and absolutely loving heading into next year.

1. Next-Level Welcome Experiences

Gone are the days of basic welcome tables. 2026 is all about making your guests feel immediately part of your celebration. Couples are designing interactive arrivals with personalized signage, curated drink stations, and tasty mini bites that match the wedding vibe. It’s not just a table anymore and it’s all about the first moment that sets the tone, gives your guests a taste of the day ahead, and makes everyone feel like they’re stepping into a fully thought-out experience.

2. Unique Experiences: Games, Grand Entrances & More

Couples are getting creative with ways to keep guests engaged and make the day unforgettable. Couples are making choreographed entrances with all their friends. Whether it’s a fun interactive activity, a surprise performance, or a totally unexpected twist, these little moments make your wedding so fun to photograph and impossible to forget. Recently, there was a couple from TikTok who created a Kahoot game for all of their guests. They loved it!

3. Sunset Portraits

Sunsets are becoming a must-have moment for so many couples. With many weddings being held at a later time in the day, it makes it easier to be present for when the sun begins to set. A quick exit to capture golden-hour photos is a trend I’m fully here for.

4. Color Trends: Pastels and Timeless Tones

2026 is bringing a playful yet elegant mix of colors. Spring weddings are embracing soft, multi-colored palettes — think gentle greens, blush pinks, powder blues, sunny yellows, lavender, and even muted oranges. Layering these pastels creates a light, airy, and joyful feel that photographs beautifully in natural light.

Of course, timeless tones aren’t going anywhere. Classic neutrals, ivory, cream, and soft blush remain favorites for couples who want their wedding to feel elegant and everlasting. The best part? Whether you go pastel or timeless, the right color palette helps set the mood for the entire day and ensures your photos feel cohesive and dreamy.

5. Documentary-Style Moments

I have been loving documentary-style photos. While posed portraits will never go out of style, more couples are trusting photographers to capture their day as it unfolds. I love this because it allows me to capture the in-between moments and makes for amazing photos. This trend is right up my alley. Also, bonus, it makes for timeless photos. I want you to remember not just what it looked like, but how it felt.

6. Personalized Touches

Couples are currently creating areas or pieces that reflect who they are. I have seen sweet set-ups of photos of family members or friends who were not able to be there on their wedding day and have seen unique items or photos that represent the couple. Honestly, these are such great ways to add more details to your wedding. I make sure to capture everything, even parts like this.

7. Standout Decor

Couples are moving beyond the ordinary and designing decor that truly reflects their personalities and vision. Think eye-catching floral installations, dramatic tablescapes, whimsical lounge areas, and creative lighting — elements that give the space character and wow-factor without feeling overdone. The best part? When your decor reflects you, it makes every photo pop and tells your story in a way that’s completely personal.

All of this is to say, although I love these trends, your wedding should be exactly how you want it to be. At the end of the day, it is what makes you and your partner happy and I would love to be there to photograph it all.

And yes — I love chatting about Pinterest inspo boards, creating timelines, and planning how we’ll capture every little detail. Your wedding gallery should feel personal, timeless, and full of the moments you’ll want to remember forever.

2026, I am so ready for you! If you’re planning your wedding in 2026 or 2027, I’d be honored to capture your day.
